The Irish Baroque Orchestra is delighted to share the news that Tara Viscardi is an Associate Artist for its 2025 season. Audiences will have the chance to hear Tara perform at the Killruddery House residency weekend in May 2025, as well as a solo recital at Dublin HandelFest this year.
Speaking on her appointment, Tara Viscardi says "I am delighted to be an Associate Artist with the Irish Baroque Orchestra for 2025, an ensemble I have always greatly admired. I very much look forward to devising and presenting solo recitals at Killruddery House and Dublin HandelFest on the Italian baroque triple harp which will explore repertoire from early Ireland and central Europe. I also look forward to performing a Cushion Concert for children at Killruddery, as part of the IBO's wonderful education and outreach programme, an area I am equally passionate about. It is an honour to be included in the IBO's exciting 2025 season!"
Aliye Cornish Moore, CEO of the Irish Baroque Orchestra, comments "It is a thrill to be presenting Tara Viscardi as an Associate Artist this season. The baroque triple harp is all too seldom heard in Baroque orchestral repertoire, but it has so much to offer audiences in terms of the harp repertoire from the period as well as bringing a new perspective to the works for solo keyboard. Tara is among the most accomplished Irish artists of her generation and we feel extremely lucky to be working with her this year, and to bringing a new dimension to our offering for Irish audiences."
''...atmospheric, and exquisitely performed, was Viscardi's Midnight Over Glanmore Lake, steeped in ancestral Celtic modality and written for herself to play on the Irish harp'', Richard Morrison, The Times, 7th May 2024.
